Cycloid STEAM

A medium size Cycloid drawing machine

The Cycloid STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) is a medium-sized machine. It has a slightly bigger drawing area than my original Cycloid—10 inches in diameter versus 9.5 inches for the old machine—but the overall size of the machine is about the same as the original Cycloid. New features include a steel top turntable, more gears, and the ability to have an integrated motor. It is capable of having planetary gear setups like the much larger Cycloid Pro and also has a new fixed fulcrum holder. While the Cycloid Pro takes up most of a table, the Cycloid STEAM is much more compact, measuring 23 inches x 12.75 inches.

Cycloid STEAM comes fully assembled and complete. Includes all the turntable gears, Prime gears, Rational gears, motor drive, pens, paper, gear holder, printed instruction manual, magnets, child safe magnet ring, extra parts and jigs.

Basically everything.

Comparison of My Three Cycloid Machines: The Cycloid Pro is the best machine I can make. But it is huge, heavy, and has too many options for some people. My goal in the Cycloid STEAM is to keep some of the best aspects of the Cycloid Pro but make it smaller and more manageable. The Cycloid STEAM will still print a bigger drawing than my original Cycloid machine but it will fit on a small table or desk.
